About Suvide Foundation

Washim district in the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra was considered a tribal/backward area due to monsoon vagaries and lack of scientific agricultural knowledge among farmers. With no agricultural education institution in the district, farmers lacked proper training and exposure to scientific farming practices.

Understanding this need, Mr. Anantraoji Deshmukh (Ex. MP) founded Suvide Foundation, Risod in 1991 to uplift farmers through education, training, and rural development initiatives.

Today, Suvide Foundation operates the following institutions:

  • Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Washim
  • College of Agriculture, Risod
  • Agri Diploma School, Karda

About Agriculture College

Established in 2011, the College of Agriculture, Risod addresses the long-awaited need for agricultural education in the Washim region. The college stands as a premier institute under the jurisdiction of PDKV Akola and is recognized for excellence in agricultural academics.

The campus includes modern infrastructure: well-equipped labs, a vast library, demonstration farms, internet-enabled computer labs, and dedicated research units.

40 hectares of cultivated land support practical training in fruit & vegetable production, seed processing, poly-house farming, nursery development, bio-agent production, soil testing, poultry, goatery, and mushroom production.

B.Sc. Agriculture (Hons.)

  • Intake: 120 Students (Out of Which 24 Seats Are Reserved For Management Quota)
  • Duration: 4 Years (8 Semesters)
  • Eligibility: 12th Std. (Science) Passed in 10+2 Pattern with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Math, English and Must appear for MH-CET, NEET or JEE.

Students must have passed XII std. with 10+2 pattern from Maharashtra State Board of Higher Secondary Education or an equivalent Examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Mathematics.

B.Sc. (Agri.), Agriculture Diploma are affiliated to Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth, Akola and approved by Maharashtra Council of Agricultural Education & Research, Pune.

Yes, Both south Indian and Maharashtrian canteens are available.

Separate Competitive forum is there. Books and magazines in the library. Various seminars and lectures are arranged for this purpose.

This are a four-year full-time Degree Programme affiliated to Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri, Dist. Ahmednagar (M.S.). For the first three years class room teaching is conducted and in the last year; there are two programmes i.e. Experiential Learning and In Plant Training. During these programmes students are placed in various agro based industries, Agri allied Industries, Argil. Production Units and a various agricultural Institutions for practical experience / hand on training.

Yes, those who hail from fisherman’s family or those who hail from Agriculturist family having land in his / her name or in the name of parent / grandparents (Paternal) as evidenced by 7 / 12 certificates or land – less Agricultural Labour or Agriculturist certificate issued by the Tahsildar get 12 points (Percent) extra.
